It was indeed expected that President Emmanuel Macron's political movement would lose. It came in third place, even behind the left alliance, which is a big disappointment for him.
Axar.az reports that Matthew Bryza, the former US ambassador to our country told about the first round of the parliamentary elections held in France.
''The conclusion of the presidential election is expected to be the same and it is going to be disappointing for Macron.'' the expert indicated.
I don't know why the results would be any different in the next round. So the real question is, will Macron, as a president with three more years on his term, be able to find some way to govern with some coalition of opposition political forces? It's not clear what that might be, because the left does not want to work with Marine Le Pen, who came in first with her political party.
M. Bryza emphasized that the prediction of policy changes is impossible.
And so what the policy changes will be is also impossible to predict, because that will depend entirely on what sort of a coalition government comes together, based upon which political forces, and whether they can work with Macron. Or whether if Le Pen and her son-in-law, Christian Blanc-Nacional, gets the prime ministry, with the young 28-year-old political leader, Bardella, as prime minister, they will be in charge of the government, except for defense and foreign policy, which President Macron would still lead as the head of state. So it's very, very difficult to predict what the outcome is going to be, in terms of actual policy changes.
