On August 2, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan (MFA) responded to the official protest letter sent by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the National Olympic Committee to the International Olympic Committee regarding the biased statements of the "France 2" TV channel against our country during the opening ceremony of the Summer Olympic Games held in Paris on July 26. He commented on the letter of apology addressed to Azerbaijan by the International Olympic Committee.

Axar.az reports citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"As you mentioned, the International Olympic Committee responded to Azerbaijan's official letter of protest, apologized to our country for the unacceptable statements made by the "France2" TV channel, and emphasized that these statements are incompatible with the principles and values that the International Olympic Committee is trying to promote through sports and the Olympic Games.

We are of the opinion that the biased views broadcasted on the official state channel of France and serving the politicization of the Olympic Games are part of the slander campaign against Azerbaijan and that it was allowed on purpose. From this point of view, we expect that this country will also apologize due to the fact that France is the host of the Olympic Games.
