The French Minister’s refusal to attend COP29 is an unconstructive approach.

Axar.az reports that Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov told journalists.

The minister noted that France, as a leading country in the European Union, which considers itself a leader in the climate field, making any excuse to stay out of the climate discussions and not attending the conference is the wrong step: "At least Azerbaijan never mixes the climate issue with the relations between Azerbaijan and France. We have held events before COP, and French speakers and representatives were invited and participated in all of them. Our COP team has also worked constructively with them. As I mentioned earlier, France's non-participation is ultimately their own choice."
