President Ilham Aliyev met with the Chairman of the Sovereign Transitional Council of Sudan, Abdul Fattah al-Burhan Abdurrahman al-Burhan, in Antalya on April 11.
Axar.az reports that the Chairman of the Sovereign Transitional Council of Sudan noted the historical ties between the two countries. He emphasized that Azerbaijan is an important country with great influence both in its region and in the world.
Abdul Fattah al-Burhan said that Sudan attaches great importance to the development of relations with Azerbaijan in various fields and noted that there are good opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in the mining industry, oil, energy, infrastructure, investments, and other areas.
During the conversation, issues of cooperation in the fields of education and training were also discussed.
President Ilham Aliyev recalled with satisfaction Abdul Fattah al-Burhan's participation in the 18th Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the Non-Aligned Movement in 2019 and the discussions held during the visit. It was then emphasized that relations between Azerbaijan and Sudan are developing on an upward trajectory.
The meeting exchanged views on the organization of mutual visits of economic delegations to expand relations between the two countries, and cooperation within the framework of the Non-Aligned Movement and other international organizations was noted.
