As a result of the analysis, it was found that 11% of the composition of the asteroid that hit Great Britain last year was water, and 2% was carbon.
Axar.az reports that "PA Media" published information about this.
According to Luke Daly, a lecturer at the University of Glasgow, analysis of the meteorite provides insight into how water, the source of life, originated on Earth.
Chemical analyzes have shown that this water is very similar to water on Earth. Amino acids and molecules, which are one of the main components for the creation of life, were also found in the samples.
The meteorite belongs to a rare rock class known as carbonaceous chondrites. Carbonaceous chondrites make up about 3% of all meteorites collected on Earth.
