Trump says U.S. will not extend Iran ceasefire

U.S. President Donald Trump said he does not want to extend the ceasefire with Iran.

Axar.az reports, citing CNBC, Trump said he does not expect to extend the ceasefire, which is set to expire on Wednesday.

He also said he believes the United States is in a strong position militarily amid the conflict and that Washington has significantly weakened Iran’s capabilities.

“We’ve taken out their navy, we’ve taken out their air force, we’ve taken out their leaders,” Trump said during the interview.

He added that the U.S. expects to reach a broader agreement with Iran despite ongoing tensions, saying he believes Washington will ultimately secure a “great deal.”
