Armenia is squeezed out of the "North-South" mega-program. Unfortunately, we will be left out of such a big project.
Axar.az informs that Armenian energy security expert and economist Vahe Davtyan said this.
The economist said that the opinion of Moscow and Tehran is clear on this issue.
"The Ministry of Energy of Iran has announced that the construction of the Iran-Azerbaijan-Russia electricity corridor is nearing completion. This allows the parties to provide a reverse flow of electricity. Thus, Armenia is excluded from the "North-South" mega program. The process is carried out entirely per the geo-economic interests of Russia and Iran, whose position is also clear. In other words, we lost to Azerbaijan in this matter as well.
It should be taken into account that the energy-transport architecture of the region has already been formed, based on which all other programs are supported. "Middle Corridor" is a clear proof of this. The only project that can make a significant contribution to Armenia's energy and geo-economic progress is the "North-South" electricity transmission corridor. But as we see, we are being pushed out of there."
