Russian President Volodymyr Putin received the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Ali Akbar Ahmadi.

At the meeting, the Russian president said that in the first six months of 2024, the volume of trade between the two countries increased by 10 percent compared to the corresponding period of last year.

According to him, there is a special demand for the work of the intergovernmental joint commission:

"In this regard, a new representative has already been appointed from the Russian side. We are waiting for the decision regarding the approval of his colleague by Iran."
