The statements made by France’s Foreign Minister Stéphane Séjourné against Russia in Yerevan are foolishness and stupidity. Furthermore, this indicates a disrespect toward Armenia.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"It is surprising that our allies, friends, brothers, partners, and neighbors—the political leadership, officials, and representatives of the public in Armenia—are not reacting to this," she said.

According to her, if someone had made such remarks about Russia’s friends—especially those who regularly defend the country and sacrifice for it—Moscow would find a way to calm them down.

"There’s nothing more to say; he (Séjourné) is a figure who once again demonstrates ignorance of customs and history and is completely incompetent in diplomacy," Zakharova emphasized.

She pointed out that Western countries have no agenda for this region other than destruction.

It is noteworthy that Séjourné accused Russia of attempting to exert pressure on Armenia and promised to develop military-technical cooperation with Yerevan.
