Pakistani conjoined twins have been successfully separated after a 14-hour operation in Turkiye.

Axar.az informs that Turkish media reported this information.

It is stated that 8-month-old Mirha and Minal, who were born with their heads joined together, were born in September 2023. Following President Rejep Tayyip Erdogan's directive, the infants were brought from Pakistan to Ankara for surgery. They were separated through a staged operation. Sixty medical staff participated in this 14-hour procedure, and the twins' joined cranial areas were successfully separated.

The girls, recovering their health, will be able to celebrate their first birthdays side by side and separately.
