Despite promises from the Iranian president to relax penalties related to hijab rules, new measures are being implemented against those who violate the mandatory hijab regulations.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Mohammad Turabi, the secretary of the Islamic Union at Tehran University.

He revealed that a large number of women "hijab monitors" have been hired to oversee compliance with mandatory hijab rules in universities.

Turabi noted that there are no ongoing efforts to reinstate students who were expelled from universities for violating the mandatory hijab regulations.

It should be mentioned that Masoud Pezeshkian had announced that penalties regarding mandatory hijab rules would be relaxed, and expelled students would be allowed to return to their educational institutions.
