Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that 234 high-level members of a criminal network have been detained in simultaneous operations carried out in five countries.
Axar.az reports according to Turkish media, Yerlikaya said the international raids were part of the “Orkinos-Bulut Operation” targeting global drug traffickers and were conducted both in Turkiye and abroad.
A total of 234 high-ranking members of a criminal network were detained in coordinated operations across Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Belgium and Turkiye — 225 in Turkiye and 9 abroad.
According to Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, 10 of the suspects were wanted with Interpol red notices.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said the suspects were directly linked to 21.2 tons of drugs and over 3.3 million synthetic pills.
Following an investigation by Turkiye’s Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK), authorities seized assets worth 13 billion liras, including 681 properties, 127 vehicles, company shares in 113 businesses, and multiple bank accounts.
Yerlikaya noted the operation was the result of eight months of meticulous work, underscoring Turkiye’s unwavering commitment to combating transnational organized crime.
