Egyptian channel airs program on Azerbaijan

The Egyptian Nile Culture TV channel has broadcast a live program on Azerbaijan entitled "My night".

The participants in the program included employee of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Egypt Emil Rahimov, young Azerbaijani researcher Egypt Seymur Nasirov, doctor of Helwan University, Azerbaijani language teacher at the Department of Literature at Ain Shams University Osama Abdulrahman, and the department's graduates who studied in Azerbaijani.

The Embassy employee Rahimov highlighted Azerbaijan's history, culture, as well as Egyptian-Azerbaijan relations. He gave detailed information about the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the history of spread of Islam in Azerbaijan and the values of multiculturalism, as well as life and activities of national leader Heydar Aliyev who played a crucial role in the development of independent Azerbaijan, and the tourism potential of the country.

Young Azerbaijani scientist and diaspora activist Seymur Nasirov pointed to historical ties between Azerbaijan and Egypt.

Hailing the “colorfulness and beauty” of the Azerbaijani nature, Osama Abdulrahman said these features added different shades to the Azerbaijani art and folklore. He also highlighted the ancient history of crafts and carpet weaving in the country, drawing the audience's attention to the Azerbaijani mugham, kalagayi, tar and ashug arts which were included in the UNESCO intangible cultural heritage list.

The two hour and a half program featured discussions on essay competitions titled "What I know about Azerbaijan" and other events which were organized by the Azerbaijani Embassy for the graduates and students of Ain Shams University.

The live program also featured footages reflecting culture, history and modernity of Azerbaijan.
