The issues discussed by Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov were announced.
Axar.az was told by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan that on December 5, J. Bayramov met with S. Lavrov within the framework of his participation in the meeting of foreign ministers of Caspian countries.
During the meeting, issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia, as well as the current situation and prospects of the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia were discussed.
The parties discussed the prospects for the development of cooperation relations in several areas of the bilateral agenda, including political, economic, trade, humanitarian, educational, and cultural fields. Satisfaction with the level of multifaceted cooperative relations between Azerbaijan and Russia was expressed.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized that Azerbaijan, as the initiator of the main elements of the peace process with Armenia, is an interested party in the establishment of peace and stability in the region. At the same time, it was brought to our attention that we support the intensification of border delimitation negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia on a bilateral basis, which is one of the other directions of normalization.
At the meeting, opinions were also exchanged on other bilateral and regional cooperation issues on the current cooperation agenda between the two countries.
