On August 29, the Turkish Embassy in Azerbaijan organized an official reception on the occasion of the country's Victory Day and Armed Forces Day.
Axar.az reports that the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Turkiye were first played at the event.
Then, Turkish Ambassador to our country, Birol Akgun, read out a congratulatory letter from President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the occasion of August 30 - Victory Day.
The ambassador noted that the Turkish people and the Turkish Armed Forces, under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, won a historic Victory on August 30, 1922, and emphasized that the struggle his country began 103 years ago has successfully ended.
He said that both August 30 and November 8 are days when the struggle for our independence was crowned with glorious victories: "We welcome the recent achievements aimed at establishing peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia. A historic opportunity has arisen for peace and prosperity in the South Caucasus."
Birol Akgun noted that Turkiye will support all efforts made by Azerbaijan in this direction. He said that his country continues its efforts by maintaining its proactive position for the sake of peace and stability.
The ambassador emphasized that they highly appreciated and welcomed the peace agreements reached between Azerbaijan and Armenia. He added that the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Patriotic War, every soldier of the heroic Azerbaijani Army, and the brave sons of our people who contributed to this great Victory should always be remembered with respect and honor.
First Deputy Minister of Defense - Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijani Army, Colonel General Karim Valiyev, said that Turkiye's Victory in the War of Independence is one of the most glorious pages in the rich history of the brotherly country.
State and government representatives, ambassadors of foreign countries to Azerbaijan, military attaches, representatives of international organizations, and public figures attended the official reception.
