Against the background of the recent attacks on Iran, panic has started in Armenia.
Axar.az reports that the Armenian side is afraid that Yerevan will lose Tehran's support after the known attacks.
It is not by chance that the Armenian press actively started defending Iran against the background of what happened last night. Moreover, it was emphasized that Iran's security agencies were able to organize an effective defense against the attack.
An interesting point is that the campaign to support Iran is carried out mostly by pro-opposition media organizations. In return, Pashinyan-affiliated media organizations tried to take a neutral approach to the issues.
Armenian Turkologist Varujan Gegamyan, who released a statement today, said that the attacks carried out in Iran will be reflected in the issue of Armenia's defense:
"It is clear that a big war is starting in the region, and it is likely to affect us, even on our territory. This attack is the next signal of war. The second issue is that the weakening of Iran will directly affect the security of Armenia and Karabakh (the separatist regime in Khankendi - ed.). In other words, the weaker Iran is, the weaker Armenia, especially Zangezur, will be. So what happened at night is another alarming signal."
It should be noted that Iran is one of the main opponents of the Zangezur corridor. Earlier, Tehran sent a message to Baku saying that it will not allow the geopolitical balance in the region to change at various levels. Moreover, support to Yerevan in various forms created conditions for straining its relations with Baku.
