US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken congratulated the people of Azerbaijan on May 28 - Independence Day.

"On behalf of the United States of America, I congratulate the people of Azerbaijan on their Independence Day. We value our relations with Azerbaijan, with whom we have built a partnership on security and energy cooperation for the past 32 years. We are committed to deepening our activities in these areas, as well as on increasingly critical global issues such as climate change and the transition to green energy. We appreciate the opportunity for Azerbaijan to host COP29. We look forward to working closely with the government of Azerbaijan to ensure the success of the COP and a more sustainable climate for our children. Our cooperation is in line with Azerbaijan's constitution The United States welcomes efforts to achieve a lasting and dignified peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and we stand ready to support these efforts to turn a new page after a long conflict and build a better future. We are fully committed to this goal, which will strengthen relations and bring economic benefits to the entire region. On this important holiday in honor of the independence of Azerbaijan, I once again confirm the support of the United States to the independence, territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan," the congratulatory text said.
