Today marks the Day of Cooperation among Turkic States. Fifteen years ago, the Turkic Council was established in Nakhchivan with the participation of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkey, and has since evolved into a regional power known as the Turkic States Organization.

Axar.az reports that this was noted by economist and member of parliament Vugar Bayramov.

He stated that strategic relations among Turkic states have deepened in recent years:

"Currently, the volume of foreign trade turnover among Turkic states exceeds $45 billion. In 2023, Azerbaijan's trade turnover with member countries of the TDT reached $8.208 billion, which is a 23.7% increase compared to the previous year. Overall, last year, imports and exports with member countries accounted for 16% of Azerbaijan's total trade turnover.

There has been a noticeable strengthening of the economies of Turkic states in recent years. The nominal GDP of Turkic states is $1.4 trillion. When considering purchasing power parity (PPP), the real GDP of Turkic states approaches $4.7 trillion. This means that if Turkic states were a single country, they would rank as the 7th largest economy in the world by GDP when adjusted for purchasing power."
