A Global Summit of Religious Leaders is being held in Baku.

Axar.az reports that the event is taking place ahead of the 29th session of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), which Azerbaijan is hosting.

The Global Summit of Religious Leaders is organized under the patronage of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. The event, held under the slogan "World Religions for a Green Planet," is supported by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, the Caucasian Muslims Office, the International Council of Muslim Elders, and the UN Environment Programme.

The Global Summit, which brings together leaders of world and traditional religions, representatives of various denominations, and globally recognized figures from the religious and public spheres, is attended by more than 220 guests representing 55 countries, 30 international organizations, and leading media outlets.

The event will last for two days.
