ICRC visits detained Armenians in Azerbaijan

In October, representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) visited Armenian nationals previously reported by the Azerbaijani side.

Axar.az this information was shared by Ilaha Huseynova, head of the public relations department of the ICRC’s Azerbaijan delegation.

She stated that individual meetings were held with the detained individuals, and arrangements were made for them to communicate with their families:

“In accordance with its mandate, the ICRC assesses the treatment of detainees and the conditions of their detention during such visits. The ICRC also facilitates the restoration or continuation of contact between detainees and their families. Observations and recommendations related to the visits are shared and discussed only with the detaining authority, in accordance with ICRC procedures.”
