A period of rain that will halt active combat operations in the war zone has begun.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Roman Grekov, deputy commander of the "East" troops group.

He believes that weather conditions are the only factor affecting the advance of Russian forces. He noted that the specific nature of the terrain complicates the use of heavy weapons, wheeled vehicles, and the movement of assault units:

"In general, this will impact both the enemy and us. We anticipate that an inevitable pause is likely."
