American billionaire Elon Musk could act as a mediator in trade relations between China and the U.S. if former President Donald Trump wins the upcoming elections.
Axar.az reports that this information was reported by Bloomberg, citing several experts.
"I can imagine Musk serving as a key negotiator on many technology and trade issues between the U.S. and China during a second Trump administration," said Kevin Syu, founder of Interconnected Capital.
Former Pentagon official Derek Scissors believes Musk has a special relationship with China, and through him, Beijing may attempt to influence the Trump administration if he is re-elected.
The publication notes that Musk's position on relations with Beijing contrasts with the views of other individuals close to Trump: "China represents a significant business interest for Musk. For instance, half of all electric vehicles produced by his company Tesla are manufactured there."
