Azerbaijan and Iran hold joint drills in Caspian Sea

Iran and Azerbaijan commenced two days of joint naval exercises in the Caspian Sea on Monday.

Axar.az reports that ,citing IRNA, this marks a sign of improving relations between the neighboring countries amid rising regional tensions.

“The combined aid and rescue exercise in the Caspian Sea between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Azerbaijan, hosted by the Iranian Navy, is taking place in Bandar Anzali.

The exercises, named AZIREX2024 and carrying the slogan “cooperation for peace and friendship,” will last for two days.

It also mentioned that two Azerbaijani vessels will participate alongside the Iranian destroyer Deylaman in the drills.
