China deploys intelligent robot traffic police

In the city of Wuhu, Anhui Province, China, "intelligent robot" traffic police have begun their service.

Axar.az reports that robot police are participating in traffic control on the busy streets of the city.

The robots, which also have special ranks, serve together with their fellow police officers. The robot traffic police is attached to a small mobile platform, which allows it to move to a designated place and control traffic from all directions.

Jiang Jihao, an officer of the Wuhu Traffic Police Department, said that the robot police, connected to the intelligent traffic management system, can autonomously direct traffic by working closely with their colleagues. It is also able to identify violations of the rules of non-motorized vehicles.
