Russia blocks WhatsApp and YouTube

In Russia, the WhatsApp messenger and the YouTube video hosting platform have been permanently blocked.

Axar.az reports that these services can now only be accessed via VPN.

The blocking occurred due to the removal of domains from the Russian National Domain Name System. As a result, these platforms became inaccessible to users using state-owned DNS servers.

Note that access to Telegram was previously restricted.
