US states are ganging up on Facebook and Google

Dozens of US states are reportedly ganging up on Facebook and Google by launching antitrust investigations.

Axar.az reports citing BI that Facebook and Google are staring down the barrel of yet more antitrust scrutiny, according to a Friday. Sources familiar with the matter told the Journal that two separate groups of attorneys general are preparing to launch antitrust investigations into Facebook and Google.

Last month had already suggested that states could be preparing to launch their own investigations into Facebook and Google. Google was to be the subject of an antitrust probe by "more than half" of the state attorneys general. Google probe is expected to be officially announced on Monday and will comprise of roughly 36 state attorneys general led by Republican Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.

Meanwhile, a second group led by Democrat New York Attorney General Letitia James will investigate Facebook.
