YouTube toughens stance against ad blockers

YouTube could stop you from blocking adverts on its service as part of a contentious change in the making.

Axar.az reports that it's becoming increasingly clear that the company is poised to launch a major crackdown on ad blockers following back-to-back tests that target the tools.

As part of its latest move, YouTube is informing ad block users that it will stop video playback after three clips if they don't change their settings to allow YouTube ads or disable the tool altogether.

In a widely reported statement, YouTube confirmed that it's carrying out a "small experiment globally" that prompts users to turn off their ad blockers or sign up for its YouTube Premium service.
