Hungary: EU targets Georgia for conservative policies

The European Union is attacking Georgia because the government in Tbilisi is conservative, patriotic, right-wing, and sovereign.

Axar.az reports that Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said this in an interview with the Georgian television channel Rustavi 2.

"Your government is being attacked because it is conservative, patriotic, right-wing, and sovereign. Brussels does not like this. Moreover, they are successful. You know, Brussels does not like it when a government that is against the mainstream is successful. They attack us for the same reason," Szijjártó said.

The Hungarian minister also added that governments that do not align with the Brussels mainstream face "hellish political attacks."
