Israel Defense Forces spokesman Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin, later Friday, issued a statement reiterating that while the IDF is prepared to defend the country should Iran strike, there were no further changes to the military’s guidelines for the Israeli public.

Axar.az reports, citing Times of Israel, that Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin stated:

“I am aware of the sense of uncertainty and the tension prevailing among the public in light of the regional developments,” Defrin said in a video statement.

“The IDF is closely monitoring the situation in Iran and is alert and prepared to defend the people of Israel.”

He added that the IDF is “operating in full coordination with our partners, with the aim of strengthening the defense.”
