U.S. President Donald Trump tonight dismissed Iran’s Supreme National Security Council’s claim of victory in the ceasefire agreement as a “FRAUD,” and sharply criticized CNN for reporting on it.
Axar.az informs that Iran’s Supreme National Security Council stated that the country has achieved a “historic and crushing victory” in what it described as an “illegal and criminal war” waged by its enemies.
According to the council, Iran has forced the United States to accept a comprehensive 10-point plan as part of a ceasefire arrangement.
The plan reportedly includes guarantees of non-aggression toward Iran, continued Iranian control over the Strait of Hormuz, recognition of Tehran’s right to uranium enrichment, and the lifting of all primary and secondary sanctions.
It also calls for the termination of resolutions by the UN Security Council and the International Atomic Energy Agency’s Board of Governors, compensation for damages to Iran, the withdrawal of U.S. combat forces from the region, and an end to military operations across multiple fronts, including those involving allied groups in Lebanon.
“The alleged Statement put out by CNN World News is a FRAUD, as CNN well knows,” Trump wrote. “The false Statement was linked to a Fake News site (from Nigeria) and, of course, immediately picked up by CNN, and blared out as a ‘legitimate’ headline.”
Trump pointed instead to another, shorter statement from Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, which did not claim victory and confirmed passage through the Strait of Hormuz would be safe for the next two weeks.
