Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said he is confident that the peoples of Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine will eventually reunite in close cooperation despite current divisions.
Axar.az reports, citing BeLTA, speaking during a meeting in Minsk, Lukashenko described Belarus and Russia as “friendly, brotherly states” and said no force could destroy their unity.
"Russia and Belarus are, as I often say, our common homeland. It is not our fault that two separate states emerged here. But these are very friendly, brotherly nations. I believe there is no force capable of destroying this unity," the Belarusian leader said.
“I recently said this to representatives of Zelensky—that our peoples will still be together. Sooner or later, we will be together again. How could it be otherwise? Your relatives are buried in Ukraine. Today, you work not only for the benefit of Russia but also for Belarus, and not against Ukraine either. How can all of this be torn apart? It is impossible. Our people live there; they have always lived together and been friends. And they will continue to be friends,” he said.
“Time will pass, we will get our heads straight, and we will restore our relations. I am absolutely convinced of this. In this regard, you can count on Belarus,” he added.
