Voting for the presidential elections in Iran has started today at 08:00 local time.

Axar.az reports that Iranian media reported on this.

About 60,000 polling stations operate during the election process.

In total, 61 million 452 thousand 321 people have the right to vote.

Voting will continue until 18:00 in the evening.

It should be noted that 4 candidates are competing for the post of the head of state - Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Baghir Ghalibaf, Ali Khamenei's representative in the Supreme National Security Council Said Jalili, former Minister of Internal Affairs and Justice Mustafa Pourmohammadi and the only candidate from the reformist camp - former Minister of Health Masoud Pezeshkian.

Now citizens can vote until 22:00 local time (until 22:30 Baku time).

The Election Commission of Iran has extended the voting time for the presidential election for the third time.

Voting, which was first extended from 18:00 to 20:00 local time, and then to 22:00, will end at 00:00.

The third extension is likely to be the last, after which the counting of votes will begin.
