Azerbaijan joins transit artery bypassing Turkey

Iran is working on creation of new transit route from Iran to European Union through Caucasian countries, spokesperson for the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways Hasan Ashuri said on May 25, Press TV reported.

“An agreement on creation of new transit artery has already been reached with Azerbaijan and Georgia. The route includes motor roads and railways. The route wil pass through Azerbaijan and Georgia. The project is aimed at export of goods to Europe bypassing Turkey. This project will reduce period of export from 45 to 23 days. Russia and Finland will also join the project”.
