Azerbaijan's Youth and Sports Ministry and the Greek Ministry of Culture and Sports signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on cooperation in the sports sphere, the Azerbaijani ministry's press service told on April 21.

The MOU was signed during a meeting of Azerbaijan's Youth and Sports Minister Azad Rahimov in the Greek Ministry of Culture and Sports.

Rahimov is on a visit to Greece at the invitation of that country's Olympic Committee's President Spyros Kapralos.

The MOU envisages the further development of exchange in the sphere of sports and Olympic movement between the two countries' sports and Olympic organizations, holding joint trainings with the Greek athletes who have experience of participation in the world and European championships and other international sports events.

The two countries' relations in the area of sports and prospects for the future cooperation were also discussed during the meeting.

Rahimov also attended the presentation of a book dedicated to Azerbaijan's National Leader Heydar Aliyev.
