Turkey is not afraid of the US threats, which do not match the partnership between the two countries, Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said.

Axar.az reports citing Turkish media.

Cavusoglu noted that Turkey is not an enemy of Kurds in Syria.

Turkey has always taken care of Kurds, not only within its borders, but also in Syria, he said.

He noted that Turkey is fighting not against Kurds, but against PYD/YPG, a Syrian wing of PKK.

The minister also noted that the US statement that a 32-kilometer safety zone should be created in Syria is not an idea of the US.

Turkey has repeatedly stated the need to create a security zone in Syria, he added.
