Millions of WhatsApp users could soon be forced to buy a new phone to continue accessing their favorite app.

Axar.az reports citing foreign media that the Facebook-owned app is preparing to render a vast number of devices obsolete and will stop supporting several phones on February 1.

It has advised people whose handsets are on the chopping block to think about arranging an upgrade. ‘If you use one of these affected mobile devices, we recommend upgrading to a newer Android, iPhone, or Windows Phone to continue using WhatsApp,’ it wrote.
