Facebook to hire 1,000 UK workers

Facebook is planning to hire 1,000 new workers in the UK before the end of 2020, many of which will be tasked with developing technologies to take down harmful content on the platform.

Axar.az reports citing Inews that more than half of the new hires will be working in software engineering, product design, and data science roles, alongside messaging app WhatsApp and the business-focused Workplace service, the company announced.

Many of the workers will be working in Facebook's Community Integrity (CI) team, focused on developing methods to detect and remove harmful content across Facebook's platforms (including photo-sharing app Instagram), such as abuse and safety-linked concerns.
