Sezen Aksu mourns İmamoghlu's arrest

I am in a deeper, more painful, and more profound sadness than physical pain from this situation in which our unique homeland, which belongs to all of us, has fallen.

Axar.az reports that Sezen Aksu, one of the legends of Turkish music, said these words about what happened after the arrest of IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoghlu.

“Even though I feel that they will not listen to me, I consider it my duty to call out to those responsible. You have to listen to the voices of so many people, to understand them, to implement all your measures following the law, to never violate human rights, to protect our youth, who are our future, as if they were your eyes, and to act fairly towards all our citizens without discrimination. I hope that you will evaluate what I say with the dimensions of logic,” Aksu wrote on his social network account.

It should be noted that the Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Ekrem İmamoghlu, was detained on March 19 on suspicion of corruption and links to a terrorist organization, and on March 23, the court chose a preventive measure of arrest for him on corruption charges, while rejecting the request for arrest related to terrorism.

Since the day of E. İmamoghlu's detention, activists of the CHP, to which he belongs, have been holding a series of actions. Hundreds of people have been arrested in the actions.
