Employees of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Russia visited the detention centre where Kamil Zeynalli was detained at the Domodedovo airport a day ago.

It was reported that the request was made within the framework of the interstate agreement signed between the CIS member countries: "As soon as the news of the detention of an Azerbaijani citizen was received, the consul and vice-consul were sent to the airport to clarify the situation on the spot under the instructions of Ambassador Polad Bulbuloghlu. At the moment, the employees of the diplomatic mission are in the detention centre where he is being held," the embassy said.

It was noted that early in the morning on February 21, he met with lawyer K. Zeynalli, who was invited from the embassy and explained to him his rights provided for in the legislation.

The diplomatic representation said that currently the Azerbaijani embassy is taking necessary legal measures within the framework of the legislation of the Russian Federation and is making all efforts to ensure the rights of the detained person.
