On May 11, a meeting was held under the leadership of the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov.

It was noted that first, the memory of the National Leader of our people Heydar Aliyev and the sons of the Motherland, who were martyred for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our lands, was commemorated with a minute of silence.

On May 10, the Minister of Defense conveyed to the meeting participants the tasks arising from the speech of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev at the meeting with the first residents who moved to the city during the opening of the first residential complex in Shusha.

Noting the importance of conveying the speech of the Commander-in-Chief to all personnel in the Azerbaijan Army, the minister gave relevant instructions in this regard.

Later, the President of Azerbaijan, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ilham Aliyev, delivered the relevant Order on the release of Deputy Minister of Defense - Air Force Commander Lieutenant General Ramiz Tahirov, taking into account the age limit for military service.

The Minister of Defense emphasized that, like other types of troops of the Azerbaijan Army, the activity of the AAF in the Patriotic War and other operations was always highly appreciated by the Commander-in-Chief.

It was reported that in accordance with the requirements of the head of state, important steps have been taken in the direction of the development of the AAF and its military potential has been further increased. It was pointed out that the adoption of new aviation and unmanned aerial vehicles that meet modern requirements for armament, the training of professional military personnel and pilots are clear examples of the successful reforms carried out in the direction of building the Army.

The command and staff of the AAF have been repeatedly awarded various awards and medals by the relevant Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for their proper performance of their official duties.

The leadership of the Ministry of Defense thanked Lieutenant General R. Tahirov for his long-term impeccable service in the Azerbaijani Army, his special service in the preservation of Azerbaijan's independence and territorial integrity, and military service, and wished him success in his future life.

Lieutenant-General R. Tahirov expressed his gratitude to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief and the leadership of the Ministry of Defense for the trust shown during his service and said that he will remain faithful to the traditions of statehood in his activities.
