Tehran’s Azadi Tower lit up with Armenian flag for Nowruz

On the eve of Nowruz, Tehran’s iconic Azadi Tower was illuminated with the flags of several countries, including Armenia.

Axar.az informs this was reported on the official social media page of the Armenian Embassy in Iran.

"The tower also displayed a congratulatory message in Armenian, highlighting the universal significance of this ancient spring festival and the centuries-old friendship between the Armenian and Iranian peoples," the post reads.

The projection of the Armenian flag on Azadi Tower during Nowruz drew attention on social media, as Armenia has no connection to the holiday and doesn’t celebrate it.
