Azerbaijani judoka Hidayat Heydarov qualified for the final at the Summer Olympic Games held in France.

Axar.az reports that competing in the 73 kg weight category, Hidayat Heydarov faced Akil Gjakova from Kosovo in the semifinals.

Defeating his opponent, Hidayat Heydarov secured a place in the final.

Azerbaijani judoka Hidayat Heydarov won the Summer Olympic Games held in Paris, the capital of France.

The athlete in the 73 kg weight category won the gold medal of the Olympics by beating the Frenchman John Benjamin Gaba in the final.

It should be noted that Hidayat, who started the fight in the 1/8 finals, won this stage against Tohar Butbull (Israel). He was stronger than Artur Margelidon (Canada) in the 1/4 finals, and Akil Gyakov (Kosovo) in the semi-finals.

This was the first Olympiad in Hidayat Heydarov's career.
