Daimler Mobility AG has launched a new body specializing in car-sharing services in Korea, the German company said Tuesday.
Axar.az reports citing Korean Times that according to the company, Mercedes-Benz Mobility Korea (MBMK) began operations on Tuesday after naming Guillaume Fritz as its managing director.
As a new legal entity, MBMK will start operations with premium long-term car rental businesses using Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
At the brand's showrooms and online channels, customers will be able to get a quote on their requests for long-term car rental service. Since the service is taking place at the brand's showrooms, customers can test-drive vehicles and then select their vehicles.
"Korea is a dynamic market and we see many exciting opportunities to initiate innovative mobility services," Fritz said in a statement. "With a strong focus on customer convenience and experience, we want to shape the future of mobility in Korea, with products and services that simplify our customers' lives and mobility."
"The Korean mobility industry is also growing rapidly and MBMK plans to cater to this emerging customer demand by leveraging Daimler Mobility AG's insights to introduce new services tailored to the Korean market," an official at MBMK said. "Starting with long-term rental services, we are looking for a number of business opportunities in Korea and plan to expand our services in the near future."
