Syrian army enters central districts of Raqqa

Units of the Syrian army have entered the central districts of Raqqa, the capital of the province of the same name, located 520 kilometers northeast of Damascus on the banks of the Euphrates River.

Axar.az reports, citing Syrian military sources quoted by Al-Hadat television.

It was stated that the troops had earlier taken control of the strategic Aleppo–Raqqa–Deir ez-Zor highway, which connects the country’s northern provinces.

It should be noted that the Syrian army is conducting operations against the SDF, which it designates as a terrorist force.
