Israel cancels Independence Day events nationwide

Independence Day events across Israel have been cancelled nationwide due to widespread wildfires.

Axar.az reports, citing JP, the government officially cancelled all Independence Day celebrations across the country following fires that broke out in the Jerusalem hills and spread amid extreme weather conditions.

The cancellations affected events nationwide, while additional gatherings, including a planned rally in Tel Aviv’s Hostages Square, were also called off.

Several scheduled performances in cities such as Ashkelon were postponed as emergency services cited safety concerns and inability to secure event locations due to the fire risk.
