Erdogan arrives in Samarkand

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in capital of Uzbekistan.

Uzbek Deputy Prime Minister Adham Ikramov welcomed Erdogan at the Samarkand airport yesterday evening.

Erdogan is expected to visit the resting place of the first Uzbek President Islam Karimov and pay tribute to his memory.

During the scheduled meeting, the Uzbek Acting President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Erdogan will discuss the state and prospects of the Uzbekistan-Turkey cooperation development. In addition, they will exchange views on the topical regional and international issues.

Turkey’s president is accompanied by the Deputy Prime Ministers Veysi Kaynak and Tugrul Turkes, the Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, the Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci and the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Berat Albayrak.
