An agreement was reached to continue mutual confidence-building measures between Azerbaijan and Iran, Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan - Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration, wrote on the social network.

Axar.az reports that Hikmet Hajiyev wrote on the social network.

“Within the framework of the visit to Tehran, we held fruitful discussions with the Political Advisor to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Mehdi Sanai, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Abbas Araghchi. An exchange of views was held on the development of Azerbaijan-Iran friendly relations based on the principles of peaceful coexistence, non-interference in internal affairs, and good neighborliness.

Cooperation within the framework of the 3+3 regional format, the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), the Consultation on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA,) and other international organizations was discussed. An agreement was reached to continue mutual confidence-building measures.

"The Aghband-Nakhchivan and North-South Transport Corridors were highlighted as important regional and transregional projects that serve the common interests of the two countries," he noted.
